I love learning about my clients. Where you can find them on a Saturday morning. The favorite book they read together. What their most cherished gifts are. After spending a few hours with the May family I learned they are overflowing with love for one another, and aren't afraid of being a little bit silly. My time with them was such a gift. Thank you so much for allowing me into your lives and capturing what makes your lives absolutely beautiful.
Lizzie and Kelby
I loved Lizzie and Kelby's wedding for so many reasons. Their wedding was held outside at a barn on a beautiful, sunny Rocky Mountain day. Not a single detail was overlooked which was a testament to all the love and attention spent making the wedding come together. To top off the day a live band played into the night while everyone drank beer, stomped their feet and beat on tambourines. The band even played "Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show; one of my favorite songs. What I loved the most about the wedding was realizing that these two best friends have the love support and adoration of all of their friends and family. I walked away from their wedding smiling from the community of people that surrounded Lizzie and Kelby's lives. Thank you Lizzie and Kelby for allowing me to be a part of your day, your marriage is going to be incredible!
Also, a big thank you to the wonderful Jessica Ramsey for second shooting and assisting me that day.

I was so proud to have my work featured in The Bridal Collection's 2012 Preferred Vendor Guide. A dear friend of mine, Chelsea, was my model for the afternoon. The gowns featured in the shoot are carried at The Bridal Collection. The Bridal Collection has been in business since early 2000 and offers a vast selection of designers at varying price points to accommodate all brides. If you were recently engaged, be sure to make an appointment to try some gowns on. You never know if you will find your dress!
Kate and Tim
I was so honored to be asked to second shoot with the wonderful Caroline Colvin for Kate and Tim's wedding. As we walked into the suite where all the ladies were getting ready, I knew the day was going to be awesome right away from the nineties hip-hop playing in the background, the laughter and excitement in the air and how light-hearted Kate and all of her closest friends were.
There were so many reasons why the day kept getting better and better. I was happily surprised to learn that the groom, Tim, ended up being an old colleague of mine when I worked at JPMorgan. Tim has such a great sense of humor. Tim and his brother had everyone laughing all day. Their ceremony was at the same location my husband and I got married. The toasts Kate's sister and Tim's brother gave were funny, cleaver, and meaningful. The dancing at the reception was going all night, with music mixed by one my favorite DJ's in Colorado, DjRipm. He knows how to keep the party moving, and mix music like no one else! What topped off their wedding day was knowing Tim and Kate were leaving to the next day for a two week honeymoon to Brazil. Yes, their wedding was nothing short of incredible.
Tim and Kate, your wedding was so memorable. Congratulations on your marriage and I wish you both a lifetime of adventure.
Sneak Peek!
Jamie and and Steve invited me out to Okoboji Iowa to shoot their lake wedding last week. Steve is just crazy about Jamie. During a little speech Steve gave he was choking up as he explained how marrying Jamie was truly a dream come true. I was trying not to cry as I was shooting because the weight and emotion of his words were so thick and real. Thank you so much Jamie and Steve for inviting me out to document your day. Here is a little snapshot from our time together. A full post will be up on the blog in the coming weeks. Happy Saturday!

I had the greatest pleasure of working with the incredibly creative and organized Christine Ashburn of The Soiree Studio on an intimate backyard bridal shower in the heart of Denver. As I arrived on location, I knew I was in at the right spot by the trail of hanging flowers leading me into the celebration. I arrived early and all the decorations were in place waiting to be captured. This intimate occasion was featured today on Hitched Blog, the new and fresh resource for planning the perfect Colorado wedding. Hop on over to their blog to see the full feature and to feast your eyes on all things wedding. Also, if you are in need of the perfect wedding planner refer to Christine. She is extremely talented, on top of her game, and knows how to make your event an event to remember.
A new begining.
This is my very first blog post. It has been a long time coming and I have put a lot of thought into what I wanted my first posting to say. When I decided to pursue photography three years ago I went out and bought a journal. I opened it up and I began writing as fast as my hand could keep up with my thoughts. What I wrote was one of the barest purest positions of my heart. I was asking God to take my dreams and abilities. Really take them. I also asked for direction as I started out on this new path. I had a real honest trust, truly believing He would guide me. I know when I wrote those words I meant it; with my whole being. And I wasn't scared. I often forget where my focus should be, forget to ask for guidance, forget that I can't do it on my own strength. When I am clouded, empty, and have lost direction, I take out my old journal and reread the first page. It reminds me of the foundation of where this all started and how I want to get there. I wanted this first entry to be a reminder to myself. That when I have lost perspective and am off course, to look back at the beginning and remember, get on my knees, pray, stand back up and stay on course.
